An absolute must!
I have to admit I use my gate more to get the dog than the kids. She is a red mix weighing 90 pounds. Without these things and their incomplete obedience, this gate would be in the ground all along! They keep it away from guests in the kitchen when we have guests and in the living room when I'm cooking. The best purchase I've made for her. Also, I wasn't paid or encouraged to speak or try them. I would buy them again if needed, but have had them for over a year with no signs of wear.
