Bought these sandals for light hiking. The sandals are soft on the foot and have a good grip. The toe strap really wraps the sandal around your foot giving you a stable platform. Went on a 6 mile hike on day 3, after only two days of light use and no pain or blisters. My other sandals, Birkenstock, which are just as comfortable but not for hiking, had been broken in for several weeks. One of the reasons I chose them is that the straps don't use neoprene material which can encourage bacterial growth. . So the smell is zero and the tapes dry very quickly. I've been concerned about the strap rubbing against bare skin causing blisters and a heavy sandal feel, but so far this hasn't been an issue.
