Let's start with the cons: First, the smallest cones are too big for collegiate offal and a bit too big for lamb offal. It took forever to load, and as a result, small holes appeared in the case. Secondly, it must bear 10 pounds. I was lucky enough to get 7.5 on first boot. Really figured Β£10 to save time and effort. Third, it's not as durable as I expected for what I paid for it. The base is just stamped sheet metal, it's very easy to fold it in half if you forget to pin the tube. And the handle is just cast aluminum, it's pretty easy to break when the sausage mix is a bit thick. Expected everything made of steel. Pros: Stainless steel tubing as advertised and finished decently, just leaks a little at the weld which is to be expected if the mix is too thick. Note that it's not as difficult as it seems. It's fairly easy to clean too, and unless you're afraid of getting aluminum parts dirty I don't see why it can't be washed in the dishwasher. Suggestions for the manufacturer: make the handle stronger, either reinforce the cast aluminum, or use stainless steel as I expected. And make sure that the handle can be used from all sides, so that many places open up for the use of a horizontal spatula.
