Great concept but low quality design and materials

I was very excited when it arrived. My other second monitor is in my basement with no natural light. So if I have a monitor hooked up to my laptop I can work upstairs in my living room - windows are nice! The package arrived on time and in excellent condition. I was very excited to install this! Installed 4 silver dollar sized shiny metal discs on the back of my laptop following the instructions provided. They were firmly attached but definitely stood out against the matte black laptop when the screen was not attached. Come on, it's okay - I knew it when I bought it. And then came the moment I had been waiting for. I installed the monitor, plugged it in, opened the laptop and my laptop's hinge wasn't strong enough to support the weight of the monitor :/. After pulling the monitor over the edge and tilting it toward me, the hinge held, but the magnets weren't strong enough to keep it in place. Boom guy! I decided to attach some team picture hanging strips to the top two magnets to keep them in place. I began to have doubts because I now have four shiny silver dollars and a velcro strap attached to the back of my laptop. But it was functional, so whatever. I worked with it for a day and found that the screen was still crooked even though it was properly attached with magnets/velcro. When I looked closely, sliding out at the bottom of the monitor allowed the monitor's weight to flex the fragile plastic rail at the bottom, causing the screen to sag just enough to be viewable. I returned this monitor for 2 of these 3 reasons: 1. The weight of the monitor is too much for the laptop's magnets to support.2. The weight of the monitor could not be supported by the laptop hinge unless it was extended.3. For what I paid ($300) the quality of this item should have been much better. The plastic was flimsy and the carriage on the bottom wasn't strong enough to support the weight of the screen. Manufacturer: 1. Use better plastic, especially on hinges.2. Try making the monitor brighter.3. Insert magnets into the back of the carriage so that the magnets do not support the weight of the monitor. You just had to bring the monitor to the laptop.4. Different color options for the silver dollar sized metal discs would be great so they don't stand out when the monitor is unplugged. You sent 12 silver metal discs; it would be cool if two were matte black.
