It just doesn't stay on the laptop. Period. The adhesive on the magnets holds well, but also falls off easily on the table. I *hate* the fact that this monitor doesn't *stay* on the monitor - it just crashes for no particular reason. The magnets are on top of the monitor and the mounting plates are smooth as hell to attach to your laptop. Nothing prevents things from sliding on the floor, which happens quite often. The screen works, but the magnets aren't strong enough to hold the screen when it's fully extended. There is a clamp used when you have 2 screens that I use to hold the monitor. Without them I would not be able to use the screen on the laptop. UPDATE: I increased my rating by one star after using this product for a few weeks. I love it and it does the job. The clip holds the screen in place for what I need and aside from the magnet issue, this second monitor was a good buy.
