Installed on Chevrolet Malibu Premier 2016 (New Body 2016). Replaced Genuine GM Factory Part. It's a shame that such an expensive car breaks down. but here we are. I hope to get at least 4 years from this device like I did with the original. At least the price for this part is great, especially when you have to change it more often than the parts from the old cars I had. Installation is very simple: 1) Remove the plastic cover around the mounting bracket. . Pull straight, no hardware holding it. 2) Remove the black push pins and remove the spacer. Your parts are 5-10.3) Unscrew the 2 Torx T27 screws that secure this assembly to the trunk lid. These are NOT torx security screws - they are standard (no hole in torx bit required). 4) The actuator extends and then extends. Once the wire can be easily removed, the steel cable needs to be removed - there is some sort of plastic 'door' that slides in to allow you to pull the steel cable out. 5) Install in reverse order.
