I have 2 474A++ and I just bought a 701A++ after I had to buy another 474 but didn't have enough at the time. I was fed up with this topic because it seemed true. Suction cup like 474, but with an additional soldering iron. As someone who has used the same WES51 iron for years I am very impressed with this product. There is a downside. Before I continue ranting and raving about this product, let's take a look: A soldering iron smoke absorber sacrifices the airflow of a soldering iron. I would imagine this could be solved with a Y connector on the side of the base and a way to connect one end of it depending on which one I'm using, but that's the only downside. I removed the absorbent tube as soon as I discovered this and got on with my life. However, this thing is amazing. The compressor in this machine should be different than the 474. It is quieter and also has the ability to constantly suck (for the absorber function). It also seems to perform slightly better than the 474. I would recommend it over the 474. If you can afford a few bucks more, it's worth it. The iron is high quality and the included tip was my preference anyway (sharp conical). The iron heats up very quickly and the suction cup is a bit behind. Apart from this item being amazing I also had a small problem with my 474 and contacted SRA Solder (dealer) and they were very helpful and generous. I would give them 10/10 for customer service and transparency. Yes, I have more expensive ones. Companies that rhyme with "bakko" and the like. Take your new Chinese overlords in soldering accessories and just buy them. It's worth it. I run a professional shop selling vintage electronic music equipment from the 70's and 80's and rely solely on these products at every bank we have. Buy buy buy!
