Firstly, the main reason I chose this shirt over others was the color of the buttons. I wear this to renaissance festivals, I need brown buttons that look like wood. My buttons are cream colored. There were several "linen" shirts of a similar design with much better reviews that I missed because of this detail. Second, in terms of texture, the shirt doesn't look like the picture. It doesn't have that "crumpled" linen look shown in the picture which was the ONLY OTHER PART I wanted between the brown buttons. If after reading these reviews you are still not smart enough to avoid this product and want to know the size: In the middle of the page the seller has published a size chart which is very accurate. I have a 41" chest so I ordered L which is 44.7". I believe that is the case. A small issue is that the material is zero warp and blocky, meaning it's just as wide at the shoulders as it is at the hips. If your stomach protrudes beyond your pecs, it won't flatter or flatter you. Even with that, mine fits, but turning it on and off is a serious refrain. If I could do it again I wouldn't get this shirt but if forced to buy it I would go for XL.
