The assembly instructions weren't very clear but it's not hard to figure out where to put the pieces together, it just takes a little common sense. I only had a small issue with a piece of metal where the screw for the shelf snaps in, but nothing that a small, thin piece of plastic couldn't do to help the screw hook and screw in. (Hope that made sense!) It's also very durable! I live in Southern California where earthquakes are common, so I shook my furniture very hard to simulate a strong earthquake and the shelf wobbled just a little and stayed in place! (Mind you, I shook everything with all my plants and items on it. I guess the weight of everything helped.) It might be too early to talk about sun damage, I've had it for more than 1 year. 1/2 month old and I haven't seen any change/sun damage to it, although the brochure says not to expose it to the sun if you want it to last? I have it on a west window where it gets day, the sun starts around 2pm, then gets a bit of shade from our neighbor's tree and the sun comes back a little later. I live in zone 10a. (Intense summer heat!) Overall I LOVE it! I'm thinking of buying another one to put on the wall for my other small houseplants I have. 12/10 would definitely recommend him and his bags are value for money! ♥
