First, never consider this place the main habitat of a hamster, not even a dwarf hamster. This will give them almost no place to live. We bought this as an extension to another pet cage to give our hamster extra space. I thought I'd save about $8 and buy a cheaper one since it was just an add-on, but I regret that. The exercise wheel is great for dwarf hamsters, but not much more. The water bottle sucks so we threw it away and sealed the hole. Aside from the dull plastic sidewalls, it's more difficult to change/assemble than our other cage. The hole at the top is small, so small that you can't pull the wheel out to flush it out without taking the whole cage apart.
