My husband wanted some nice salt and pepper grinders for his birthday so I did a lot of research to find the right ones. They looked beautiful, we're made from sustainable wood, and they had good reviews, so I bought them. Unfortunately, they were disappointingly unusable in every respect. First, the top of one of them fell off every time you lifted it, so we had to add some tape to make it more secure. Then, to match the grind size to the size, we wanted the bottom of the grinder to protrude under the wooden case, which made them look really cool. They come with this tray, which is good for catching all of the salt and pepper dust, but because it's so flat and the grinder sticking out of the bottom will knock over tall objects, you'll need three hands to move the set anywhere to move. After all, they're surprisingly low in salt and pepper for something this big. I don't know what I'm going to do with them as it's too late to return them. I would donate it to a thrift store but I'm embarrassed to give such a stupid product to someone else. We're back to the cheap Trader Joe salt and pepper grinders that we've been using for a decade or more with no problems.
