Review on πŸ—„οΈ Sabrent 9U IT Wall Mount Rack Enclosure 19 Inch Black Server Cabinet - Fully Assembled (CT-DSWL) with Locking Glass Door by Jimmy Montalvo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Arrived with dents on computer accessories and peripherals

I have this to hold two PCs in server cases, one for everyday use and one with routing software as a DIY router. In a 9U case I have a home internet router in a 1U case and a PC in a 4U case. My project was something of a project that went wrong, although it wasn't an accident, it was my own. I can't close the front glass pane because I misread the depth measurements and installed the PC in a 4U case that was too long. It's fine to leave it bolted or not, but make sure you read the dimensions correctly! The device arrived with a few dents that other reviewers seem to frequently report, but overall it's a good device. I have not yet used the top two ports for additional cooling as the router runs in an open case configuration in the rack and the rear door still needs to be left open and the 4U long case works with the PC case. The device can be screwed to the wall, but that's not the application I'm going to use. Bottom line, this case doesn't technically fit my needs and I plan to switch to an open rack in the future for more flexibility. that there are no problems. It's well built from cold-rolled steel, but doesn't seem to be taking shipping very well. Nothing more to say about the basic slat case that gets the job done, but I'll definitely be buying something deeper in the future. Can't comment on the heat build up as the case is open at the moment as you will see the rat's nest that had to be made to make it work. Also, this is my first time using a rackmount server case for anything. Some notes. The back has metal external latches that allow opening like a door, as well as rear access for those not wall mounting the case, and the front glass panel has key-lock features for security, allowing both ends to be opened . for easy maintenance if you wish. Overall not bad for this type of setup. I've seen some reviewers put modems and routers in the case as well, which is a good idea if you don't just want to hide and unify the PC/server, but anything else that serves your network, be it consumer or commercial professional applications.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
