Great way to save money and not as heavy as I thought. It is actually quite simple. I watched the recommended videos and successfully refilled both XL cartridges. I was too careful at first and didn't use enough ink, but that was easily fixed. Be sure to learn how to reset or bypass the printer's ink monitor and the chip in the ink cartridge, otherwise your refilled cartridge may not work. For Pixma, you just need to press the black or colored button and the stop button at the same time for about 8-10 seconds. I also recommend running the print head alignment, nozzle check and ink head cleaning. I've done all this and my printer prints perfectly printed pages. I estimate that this set will save me at least $80 and possibly more. I also recommend covering your workspace with plastic wrap or something non-porous and having some paper towels and cotton swabs handy to blot excess ink off the surface. the top of the cartridge when you refill. Be careful not to point the tip of the refill bottle down or you'll have to clean up the mess. Tilt the cartridge towards the refill needle and insert the needle into the cartridge at an angle. Then you have no problems. After inserting, you will feel the stop on the sponge in the cartridge. Slightly pull out the needle and gently tap the bottom of the refill bottle to push the ink into the cartridge. Once you learn how to do this, you'll feel yourself applying gentle pressure with your thumb to push out more ink. Take your time. Don't be afraid to try.
