Several of these sprinklers and all of the inlets failed after 1 year due to thin pot metal construction and dissimilar metals. Removing the old intake can be challenging due to corrosion and the thinness of the metal. Inside the inlet was a fairly large six-sided indentation, too big for most of Allen's chick sets. I found an old screw that fit (not sure what size) and used some bench vices and a bench vise. Be sure to soak the PB Blaster for a few days, otherwise the inlet pipe or sprinkler body will break. If so, you can gently pry it out with a small screwdriver. One of mine broke into small pieces after a few hits. Keep in mind that the body of the sprinkler is also made out of a thin metal pot. The new one doesn't rotate since it's solid brass, so you'll have to screw the sprinkler onto the hose.
