Nothing Like It - Puzzles

See photo. They all are. All 100. It took me almost two years and I probably completed the first 40 or so in the first two months. I consider myself an avid origami lover and have books by Montrol and Lang who I consider to be two modern masters. For example, I knew all about the different types of origami folds, aside from the simple mountain and valley folds. Inversion folds, petal folds, gourd folds and open closed cups. And thank God I did it, otherwise some puzzles would seem completely unsolvable. At first the puzzles seemed easy. And they were. But I noticed that none of them looked like the picture or the folding technique used to solve them. In the end I really had to use all the origami skills I had acquired over the years to create complex folds like simultaneous folds and closed shells. Who knew there were over 100 DIFFERENT ways to assemble a 4x4 square? I'm still trying to figure out how to properly display them instead of keeping them in a sandwich bag. I even bought a second set to show the comparison between the unfolded paper and the finished square. My only "disappointment" is that there is nothing quite like it. Once you complete all 100, that's it. Not anymore. No sequels, not even imitations. There is absolutely nothing even remotely resembling this amazing set of puzzles, of which later puzzles (about 60+) will test even the most experienced folders.
