We and our child love Hape's quality toys. However, the following came as a surprise to us. Long story short, the paintwork was so bad when we received it that we ended up sending it back for another one. bad e.g. E.g. in faded paint in some places, above paint lines in other places, even in some raised paint spots. Additionally, the tracks were quite rough and spiky, where the cars were able to bottom less than half the time. The replacement was much better overall. The paintwork is fine, the cars drive on the track most of the time. One of the cars cracked the ground, but we're okay with that.
