In the middle of a severe cold snap, the zipper on my old heavy coat broke. I ordered this product as a replacement. Received within a few days. actually faster than expected. Pros: Length: The length is ideal for travelers using public transport. Standing at bus and train stations in the middle of winter is a nightmare without a good coat. The sleeve length is perfect for me. They reach just below my wrists. My arms are a little longer than average so the length of my arms in clothes was an issue. The cuffs are lined with cuddly jersey, which perfectly protects against the cold. warms. I have to say it feels a bit warmer than my old trusty one. I didn't realize how worn it was until I started wearing it. In addition, the collar is insulated. Very good for the days when the wind is particularly penetrating. The hood is lined and closes with a zipper. There are none of those pesky zipper gaps that let cold air in. Construction: My main complaint with winter coats for years has been the use of plastic zippers. They don't hold, they break and frankly they can be hard to close. This coat has a beautiful metal zipper. No zipping or unzipping issues; It is also attached below. Lined Pockets: What a blessing. Cons - I live in the Northeast where there can be strong arctic winds. I noticed that I could feel the wind through the seams between the upholstery. Not a very comfortable feeling. As I said, the length of the arms is ideal, but they are not very wide in the shoulder area. I can't wear a sweater that's too thick under my coat. Which is an issue as the seams leak a bit. The pockets are too small. I like that they are zipped (with metal zips) but at most they hold a pair of gloves. Make those pockets a little deeper guys and you have a winner. The aforementioned collar padding is good. except the neck size is *really* tight. The collar should either be made larger or the padding cut off. There is no place for a scarf. So if you close up to the collar, you can keep the cold out by tucking the hood under your chin. Get ready to be shocked when you fully zip up. There is no barrier between your skin and the zipper. It would have been nice to have a small zippered flap to keep skin from freezing. Also, there is no room for a scarf! I swear I love this coat! LOL All in all I'm glad I bought it. He saved my bacon this winter. Just stay out of the direct wind and you'll get through the winter just fine.
