The top of our tree is stiff enough to hold the star, not the top of the branch which sags under any added weight so the star stands straight easily. I routed the wiring along the branches so that it runs down the middle of the tree and is not visible. I had to use a small extension cord to get from a plug hidden in a tree to an outlet. Interestingly, the little box that comes with the power adapter also has a two-pin USB adapter input, so you can USB power the star if you want to spruce up an area near an always-on computer. But the star is beautiful. It reminds my husband of the star on the tree from his childhood Christmas parties, slowly twinkling different colors. This star has a nice relaxed glow that looks really pretty.
