- Traces errors back to their point of origin.- Very easy setup using ELK stack (I am new to this but know it's used a lot).- The interface looks very simple without too much detail if you are not familiar with how logs work or what tools can be installed. I use light step mainly as an aggregator so don't always need all details available. For example there isn't enough information about API requests unless they have been instrumented which adds overhead. Also when logging something like 'Error 500' we also want to see some more detailed info such as line number etc. However these additional fields may cause problems if your log rotation period doesn't match them up correctly. We're solving application crashes across our systems including APIs/microservices.
