It just works! (tm)

I needed a second ethernet interface on my laptop running Linux Mint 18. I connected it to the laptop and a gigabit switch and had gigabit speed and IP address before I put " ip addr ". For the following, this is Linux kernel version 4.13.0 and it is a Realtek chip that requires xhci_hcd, r8152 and cdc_ether kernel modules.
