I am so grateful that I found this product. It works, which is amazing. It turned my crappy component coax cables into HDMI. I'm really not sure what I would have done if I hadn't found this product. Please note it comes with an IR receiver and transmitter (not pictured). It's great too. I found all the different IR products downright confusing, but in the end I didn't need them at all. It also works (in my case) with an RG-59 cable (which I think is smaller than the advertised RG-6U). to need). In my case, I probably have about 100 feet of wire (but I didn't do the original wiring, so I don't know). Make sure you buy high quality HDMI cables. Since you're using 2 HDMI cables, 2 of them and possibly a long coax cable, there's a lot of room for signal degradation and the digital quality doesn't degrade gracefully. I had a bad HDMI cable and our AppleTV was turning on and off. I decided to purchase 2 very short (6") high quality HDMI cables and am glad I did.
