I needed cool but supportive shoes, not sandals. There are a lot of really cheap ventilated shoes on the market that I didn't trust, so I bit the bullet and bought these Olukai Nohea sneakers. Despite the sneaker label, they look really good for a wider range of uses and fit perfectly. I have a relatively wide forefoot and a fairly narrow heel and I usually wear 9D (or medium) shoes. As most people said they were true to size (82%) I went ahead and ordered a 9D/Medium and it fit perfectly. They were meant to be loose fitting compared to leather shoes, but I didn't want them to be casually loose like the Croaky. They offer plenty of space for the forefoot and are easy to take off without tying thanks to the elastic laces. You press on the back of the shoe, take the small loop at the top of the laces and pull the shoe up like a sock, and then use your finger to lift the back collar around the heel. Easy and fast. I've walked up and down steep hills in them a few times, and they support and absorb shock without being soft. And they're really cool, like barefoot, even though I wore socks (Wrightsocks cool mesh II). They also look good, just like the picture. I chose the Mustang color as it is a neutral taupe/tan with a cream sole. I am very happy with it and would buy it again despite the high price. Its worth it!
