Mods => GREAT MACHINE

With some upgrades this machine competes with machines over $400. The single wall filter basket is a huge improvement over the pressure filter. If you drill out the bottom of the portafilter holder, more foam will be produced. The steam nozzle is a simple solution for those who are mechanically inclined. It is also recommended to have extra batch prints on hand. Also, clean the machine with citric acid or Keurig cleaning solution about every 6 months. I use about 1/4 cup in the tank, strain and let sit for 30 minutes. Then skip a couple of water tanks to rinse the car. Fastening the steam pipe:--------------------------------(1) Loosen the two screws under the machine head ( 2) Unscrew the six screws on the back of the machine and remove the back panel. (3) Unscrew the two screws on the back of the top cover and remove the metal top cover. (4) Unscrew the four screws on the top of the opened machine and remove the plastic cover around the brew head. (5) Remove the steam wand retaining clip and remove the steam wand fitting. (6) Cut the end of the steam tube O-ring and remove the burrs. (7) Install the brass steam wand fitting using Teflon tape (1/4" OD x 1/8" MIP Compression Adapter - available from Ace Hardware). (8) Reassemble in reverse order. Bottom Filter Upgrade ------------------ 1) Drill the bottom of the portafilter with a drill and 1.75" hole saw. (2) Replace the filter with a 53mm non-pressurized single wall filter: La Pavoni MP-68 This portafilter seals much better thanks to the large rounded lip at the top. I had NO group seal leaks with this filter.==> https://www.amazon.com/Pavoni-Millenium-Later-Filter-Basket/dp/B00IAEQJTO----MS-620342 (amazon)
