Review on Contigo AUTOSPOUT Water Bottle 32Oz by Athenasby Whitney

So I was always a Contigo fan until I got this one. I love the flip top and the material the mouthpiece is made of (I tend to chew on them and they are always so firm and soft). This one is much larger so has a wide base which is fine but is a bit awkward to hold when filling as you have to grab at the top. It has a folding handle but doesn't have an integrated handle like older Contigos, so you can't clip it directly to your bag unless you buy a carabiner or clip separately. Now I have the biggest problem. That's why I gave it a 2 star rating because the straw inside just pops into the bottom of the lid. This causes problems with the straw at the bottom, I often have to drink backwards out of the bottle to get some water in. It also occasionally falls out when I take the lid off as it's held with a light grip. Older Contigos would have a harder plastic straw screwed into the lid, but it was at an angle that pushed it forward so you just sip as you normally would to keep the last drops of water at the bottom. The last thing that made me give a low rating is that he sometimes acts funny and sometimes spits or licks. I laid it across the couch, closed it completely once, and the water seeped into the couch (no big deal, it's just water, but it shouldn't have leaked like that, I even covered and sealed the tip of the straw). But I've also seen the thing spit water, as soon as I open the mouthpiece it pours out in a faint fountain as if pressure is building up inside. On the old Contigos, this geyser has only happened to me if I left it in a hot car where the heat would create a lot of pressure. This new one seems to happen randomly, I don't know why.
