I thought I'd see how it would be without any wires at all, so I gave it a shot. An order of magnitude less noise isolation can be expected from Beats X headphones. In the past, it was sufficient to listen to just slightly more than half the volume while riding the subway or walking down the street. These days, however, you need to listen to 80–90% of the volume's maximum level. But, the sound quality on its own is very awesome, and I actually prefer it a little bit more than what Beats X offers. Overall, due to the high expectations syndrome and the great reviews, I was expecting a little bit more, particularly considering the cost of the item.
