Designed for iittala about ten years ago, this Antonio Citterio carafe, along with a range of similarly minimalist glasses and cutlery, is simple, durable and elegant. It easily fits a full 750ml bottle at the base well below the neckline. The base is wide and flat and this gives you a lot of airflow. The neck is heavy and offers a secure grip when decanting and pouring. To clean it I suggest you give it a good rinse after each use and from time to time use something like Peugeot's "Bilbo" steel balls or a similar method to give it a deep clean from the inside to get rid of stains and it upsides around a dryer to dry. and it will look good and last a long time. I really like this decanter and it's a lot cheaper than a similar sized Riedel Vinum decanter. A great everyday carafe, but beautiful enough to use with a more elegant table setting.
