I use this anemometer to measure the air velocity distribution in a car radiator and to calculate the air volume flow. As a hobbyist, I wanted a device that didn't cost a fortune but was accurate enough that I could measure idle airspeed. Another important consideration for me was the size of the sensor element. This device has a sensor that hardly disturbs the airflow and can be used in hard-to-reach places. With that in mind, here are my pros and cons: Pros: (1) small sensor size and shape, (2) reasonable price, (3) good airspeed range, (4) there is a built-in thermistor for temperature measurement. : (1) the sliding protective sleeve for the sensor must fit snugly against the probe, (2) the device must have a flow straightener to dampen vibrations from stray airflows (not a problem when used in ducts), (3) the Sometimes must the device must be zeroed several times until zero appears on the display.
