My Polaris General Deluxe came with a factory winch but the switch was mounted on a panel in the cab. Because of this, it was impossible to see the winch when I was driving it alone. It was easy to hook up this ATV derailleur and then fold it under the hood and secure with velcro when not in use. Now that I operate the winch myself, I just stick my hand under the hood, unwrap the shifter cable, and operate the winch from outside the car. This greatly simplifies lengthening, connecting and prestressing for one-man operation. To install, simply connect a tee to each winch input/output cable. Then connect the black wire of this switch to the tee of the "In" wire and the green wire of this switch to the tee of the "Out" wire. I had to extend the red power wire at the switch about 3 feet to get to the +12 volt connection point under the hood to use the full length wire. Now I can stand about 7 feet from the machine and operate the winch.
