These shoes are great with a few exceptions. Out of the box, the sides of the shoe where they meet the tongue curled up slightly just from being in the box. It took several hours of wearing to get them into a more correct shape. (And I was often urged at my party to have my daughter with them long enough for them to "walk in"). After wearing them for a few hours she said they were very comfortable. She had some trouble putting them on herself because the heel of the shoe has this mesh on top and it flexes when she tries to put them on. If I had taken her a size up this probably wouldn't have happened but the size I got really fits her length and width. There is a tongue on the back, but she cannot easily grab it. She is 4. Overall the shoes are great. They get wet, dirty and clean instantly and my daughter says they are comfortable. Although they could be a little better.
