This is my second order of this particular key locator. The newer model uses batteries while the older models used a charging system. The new sender calls the new and old recipients by color. This is a bonus. The problem is that the receiver (beeper) has a low volume level and a short disconnect signal. Sellers claim it has a range of 100 feet. This is stupid and fundamentally wrong. Even if this is true, the volume of the beeps is so low that they cannot be heard from 10 feet, let alone 100 feet away. If I could find a really loud PA system, I would buy it immediately. I am 77 years old and have a ten second memory. So I lose my keys at least once a week. I also lose my TV remotes. I've attached orange cables to my consoles so I can find them faster. Finally, two receivers (tweeters) in the box made very, very short beeps. You are useless. The local locksmith said the new GPS finders work fine, but they need to be within Wi-Fi range to work.
