* I got this tablet refurbished on eBay for $250 and at that price it's an absolute bargain Bargain for such a high end tablet and if you can get it new or used for $250-300 then I totally recommend this tablet *let me rant a bit so check it out: so now Samsung has it's the 4th generation of the Tab line, so you have the Tab 4 10.1, then the Tab Pro 10.1, and finally the Note 10.1 (the 12.2-inch is called the Note Pro, but the only difference is screen size.) When this three-headed monster was That makes sense since the Tab 4 is an entry-level/budget lineup and you can get a 10.1-inch, 1280x800 tablet for a low price (about $250-$350 (new now). If If you can spend a little more, you can look to the 10.1 Tab Pro at 2560x 1600 upgrade (approx. $350 and up). Finally, if you simply need more features and functionality, especially for business/work, you can get the high-quality S Pen 10.1 Note with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 (starting at around $500). All 3 tablet lines use a gorgeous TFT Super LCD screen. But I think Samsung just wants to be known for their Super AMOLED technology and I guess they weren't ready to mass produce it in tablet size so they had to 'settle' with LCD technology but now that they feel ready for S-AMOLED - and instead of waiting until next year when they can update their Tab Pro range - they have released the new Tab S range so you now have a 4th family of tablets with 2560 x 1600. $500) I have a feeling that Samsung isn't done with S-AMOLED for their other tablets, so I have a feeling they'll soon have an additional Tab 4 S and Note Pro series S, 6 tablet total Lines - Why end the LCD line when you can instead add more S-AMOLED families, make even more money, and confuse even more people, right? this Tab Pro, when can I get the latest and greatest Tab S 10.5? It's simple: you can save at least $100-$150 if you "settle" for LCD technology instead of S-AMOLED. If you place them side by side, you'll find that the S-AMOLED has better brightness, saturation, and black levels. But is the difference big enough to justify the price difference? I say no. On a day-to-day basis, you'll find it hard to notice any real differences or ever complain that the LCD screen lacks everything you need to do. So if you're one of those geeks who want the best and can go broke, get the Tab S 10.5. I'm like that sometimes which is why I chose the Note Edge over the Note 4. I think the higher resolution and better screen from the Tab 4 to the Tab Pro and the software differences/upgrades justify buying the Pro over the Note 4 version , but not S version - apart from the screen difference, the Tab S 10.5 also has a fingerprint sensor, but that's about it. I'm very happy with my Tab Pro 10.1 - even more so knowing I got it for $250 - and I'm sure you will be too. ** UPDATE 11/21/14: Samsung.com is running a $100 Black Friday sale discounting the Tab S 10.5, making it $400 instead of $500. http://www. samsung.com/us/shop/black-friday/galaxy-tab**UPDATE 11/22/14: Revain is now available on the white Tab 4 10.1 for just $230!
