Review on Pacer Performance 2-Piece Black Bumper Protector Pad Kit - Model 25-535 by James Hardy

I was looking for a bumper protector for our new 2012 Subaru Outback. I wish automakers would incorporate some easily replaceable bumper protectors into their designs, but that doesn't seem to be the case these days. Anyway, I was hoping to minimize the inevitable scratches and dents on the bumper and these bumper protectors should help. There are two protectors in the package, they are hollow on the back with molded vertical and horizontal ribs. This makes them quite soft - softer than I expected. This also means that they adapt somewhat to the shape of the bumper, ie. The bumper doesn't have to be flat as a board. 3M mounting adhesive is about 1/4 inch wide around the tread. The adhesive is very sticky but as it is a thin foam the protectors can be torn off the car if they need to be removed. I am very happy with the result (see photos), they look almost like original and should go a long way towards keeping the bumper looking good over the years. Update 4/30/2013: After about 1.5 years these bumpers still stick perfectly to my wife's Subaru rear bumper and look like the day I put them on.
