Review on ZRM Screws Absorption Mounting Accessories by Troy Simpson

I ordered them for a less typical HD resonance noise reduction application in a Fostex HD multitrack recorder. The HD in my DMT-8vl is mounted on a steel plate with no insulation attached to the unit's steel bottom plate and at 7200 rpm HD a strong resonant howl can be heard through the chassis. Installing these spacers and screws has had remarkable results, perhaps a 50% reduction in noise, particularly at high frequencies. Overall I'm very happy with the results for the cost as they did a surprisingly good job of reducing hard drive noise.
