Review on AC Infinity Cooling Ventilation Projects by Nick Mitchell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

As a replacement/upgrade for the original 1950's Heatilator chimney circulation fans.

We used these fans to replace the noisy and inefficient Heatilator chimney circulation fans from the 1950's. We've added magnetically attached (100°F) thermal switches to the back of the metal firebox. When a fire is burning, the AC Infinity fans kick in and silently circulate air. If you want to try this and think you need a more powerful fan to get enough air movement, think twice. I thought so too, so I also tried the next stronger set of these fans. They were annoyingly loud and used a lot more energy to run. So I tried them out and we hardly noticed them showing up (sometimes I have to step closer and listen to make sure they don't let me down). But is there enough airflow? Well, the two circulate enough heat through the fireplace's heat exchanger to very comfortably heat a large 1000 square foot room with high vaulted ceilings. so yes, absolutely yes. They are very well made and come with protective bars if required. We didn't need them but the sizes are universal and one of the grills turned out to be perfect elsewhere so it's like a bonus with the purchase.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
