Knock when shifting? Replace gearbox bearing!

I bought this for my 150,000km, 5-MT, 2004 Subaru WRX. When I shifted from 2nd to 3rd gear, I heard a knock on the floor almost near the gearbox and knew immediately that the gearbox support was defective. When I removed the old gearbox mount it definitely had play due to the old worn out rubber. So much so that I could bend the bracket by hand. This new bracket is SOLID because it is made entirely of steel. I don't hear that knocking in the hall anymore. As an added bonus, I can now shift into reverse the first time, every time! I didn't even think it was caused by the old mount, but apparently it was. I figured it might be due to old gear oil (which I'm going to change next week. I only bought the car 2 months ago). Installation was easy too. Just do a quick YouTube search to see which screws you need to remove to get to the gear mount. Just make sure you're supporting (and not lifting) the transmission so it doesn't just sag from the bolts holding it to the motor. Also purchase/download your vehicle's service manual for this year so you know what torque to torque the bolts to and add Locktite to each.
