Review on FRIGIDAIRE Professional 30-Inch Gas Cooktop: Stainless Steel, 5 Burners & Propane Convertible by Jhon Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've read all the other reviews about fragile handles rendering CT scans useless!

I don't care HOW cool the blue LED under the handle looks, I didn't want THAT problem. So I specifically looked for one that had large rebuilt beefy knobs and damn it, this one WORKS! They can be easily removed for cleaning. Each is heavy in hand, solid metal with no plastic that could be broken and weakened by grease/oil ingress and heat. metal on metal on metal. zero problems. And the center burner puts out some serious BTUs, almost too much for a regular kettle actually, but great for a large shrimp or noodle kettle. The one who is cooked does it well. We use the two left ones for the included frying pan! It's not built the way I wanted it - I thought I wanted it - it rests either over the center burner or over the left two. I've found that turning both down a notch above "low" (after reheating I dial them back up or just wait ten minutes) is the IDEAL temperature for cooking bacon or pancakes. In fact, we rarely use our iron pan or large steel pans. This thing works with almost anything and is super easy to clean with a coarse stainless steel scrubbing brush and hot water. There is no soap. I don't want to ruin the seasoning because the pancakes aren't sticky at all. One minor thing - not even a complaint really === let's call it an observation - the tiny rubber outgrowths between the heavy burner grates and the stainless frame have melted from contact with grease and oil. I thought any hydrocarbon would do, and they did. However, it fits together perfectly without it, and IF it was important enough to me (snot), according to the jury, I would mount and screw in a replacement seal with a special screw. But it's also great without them. Also very easy to install. Took 5 minutes and I didn't even clamp or glue it, its own weight with the bars in place keeps it fast and stable.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
