I’ve had so many of the other kinds out there that break. These have a coated metal wire, not a string. It has a comfortable weight to it. The cord is long and the recoiling springs has enough zip to it to quickly pull it in. A good feature also is the badge closure plastic piece. It’s got a larger point you pass through the hole so it stays better and the plastic is soft nylon like so it’s durable as well. I’ve had it about a year no issues.
