Review on πŸ”Œ Trifecte Indoor Outdoor Ceiling Fan Light Remote, Low Profile 10-Speed Ceiling Fan, Reversible Quiet DC Motor, Smart Compatible with App/Alexa/Google/Siri, ETL Listed (60 Inch - Black) by Lisa Campbell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Really good fan, something to think about

I'll just list the advantages and disadvantages so that there are no unnecessary words. Advantages: 1. Beautiful fan. Fairly low profile height.2. Quiet fan motor at all speeds, but see cons below.3. Very good airflow, I really like having 10 speeds although I mostly use 1-3 but with 10 you can fine tune the speed.4. The LEDs are very bright for a typical living room. You can control the intensity of the two color temperatures separately via the app/Alexa. The remote seems to allow 10% brightness levels. Management via Alexa etc allows you to increment in 1% increments from 1% to 100%. Light falls mostly downwards. If I had to guess, most intensity is projected at 90 degrees. Won't evenly wash the whole room like some lights (maybe minus?) 5. Nature/breeze mode is cool. Changes fan speed semi-randomly to simulate wind. Good for sleeping. Neutral / Cons: (This is VERY subjective and may not bother most people.) 1. No LAN control, ie no integration with existing smart home settings outside of Alexa/Google. You MUST use Alexa/Google for all controls except Remote or their Carro Home app. That means the fan needs internet access (not just LAN).2. The installation instructions are not very detailed. Anyone with a basic troubleshooter can easily install it, but a newbie might have trouble.3. The sound the device makes comes from a standard computer buzzer (google image) and is very loud. They tried to solve this problem by putting a screw in the hole, which seemed to work. DO NOT overtighten this screw, otherwise the buzzer's plastic will break and you will have to deal with the buzzer's full volume except for modifications.4. The motor is quiet, but at fan speed 5 the plastic of the LED lamp starts to hum / vibrate. I haven't found an invisible way to solve this yet, so I'm just avoiding the speed of 5.4.5. When the engine is first turned on, a barely perceptible click is heard. It only lasts a second and goes away at level 1. I don't know why but I have two of these fans and they behave the same. So it should only be due to the construction of the engine. I'm used to it and it doesn't really bother me. I would just like to know why he does it.5. Not the best remote control design. Some plastic keys are connected to each other. So if you don't press the key perfectly, you can easily press multiple keys at the same time. 6. Slow support response time and confusion about who to contact. I think Carro makes the fan, Trifecte is the US distributor and Smafan is the Canadian reseller. But I do not know for sure. Just guesses based on websites and labels. Overall I am very happy with this fan! My biggest wish is to have control over the local network so I can block internet access and make my network more secure. But I asked their support and they don't seem to understand what I'm talking about. All other cons are subjective and don't really bother me, I'm just pointing them out so you can make up your own mind. this is the price level for the ceiling fan. Edit: There was a recent firmware update and now the remote seems to be adjusting the intensity of the LEDs in 10% increments. Updated above.edit2: Was a 4 star review, now has one star removed for poor customer service. Since purchasing this fan I've sent 4 emails with different questions and only received one response (the one listed above). Also, it took more than two weeks to get a single reply. The fan itself still works great though. But if I ever get into trouble, I wonder if I'll ever hear their support.
