This is the second year my child has chosen this brand of sandals. The first pair served her for about a year and a half and my girl is ACTIVE. (no velcro) She chose velcro this year because she liked the colors so I hope they work just as well. She's always fishing, hiking, getting her feet wet, this kid wears off her shoes, and they pass the test of how long shoes fit kids. I have noticed that she wears smaller sandals than sneakers so my daughter wears size 4 sneakers but wears size 3 sandals if that helps at all. She is 10.5 years old and has absolutely beautiful wide long feet because she is tall and slim, and measures shoe size 4 when using Walmart's shoe measuring tool. But 3 for sandals of this brand.
