I understand this is a 'kids' tablet, but that's no excuse for a processor that's a third slower than my budget phone from 2014. The screen is just ok. The kids software on this tablet is very annoying. It's just malware designed to trick you into buying a subscription to their service for $1.99 a month or $25. When you launch it, most apps and games are loaded with ads that you have to pay to get rid of. Otherwise, there are some apps like video apps that are filled with low-quality content. The lock software is really annoying. No matter which app you want to open, it will open the kids app. It took me a while to figure out how to get rid of this, even allowing me to install some sort of performance testing software. The rubber cover is good, it protects it from falls. But this damn thing is so slow that I think most kids will be disappointed with it. Most adults will be annoyed by the difficulty of setting up parental controls. It seems to me that this is a rotten product. Take an outdated chip, show it and load it with low-quality kid-friendly software and call it a kid's product. In comparison, Revain sells kids' versions of their Fire tablets, which are pretty good current-gen tablets, and they explicitly emphasize the need for a subscription to take full advantage of their services. Setting up this tablet for testing was actually a pain.
