The cost of these bulbs makes them an attractive alternative to Hue or LifeX bulbs, but compared to a standard LED bulb they definitely sacrifice overall brightness to achieve different colors. Setup is pretty easy, but I had to cycle each bulb about 4 times to get them into the fast blinking setup mode. The instructions led me to believe that this would happen automatically when first turned on. The app is pretty simple and easy to use and I already had a smart led strip using the Smart Life app. That was the main reason I got them as well as the Alexa integration. The app itself seems to have pretty good automation. Schedules etc but I set everything up in the Alexa app, mostly for voice control. Being able to tell Alexa to turn on a light or room by name or change a color is pretty handy and also allows me to routinely or automate other smart devices not controlled by the smart home to integrate tasks. The 2 main things I don't do I don't like these bulbs (and I don't know if this is a limitation of the bulb or LED technology in general) but I can't get the bulb to turn on gradually increasing the Brightness when changing from one color to another (e.g. simulate a sunrise by turning on the color orange and increasing the brightness for 15 or 20 minutes when changing to a pale yellow color). Another big issue is the lack of a quick warm white option. This is the default cool 6000K daylight color and the app NEEDS a fast warm white option. There really isn't an easy way to tweak this other than messing around with the color wheel and chroma, and even then I can't seem to adjust it to my non-RGB LED lights. You need a white mode white balance slider like Phillips Hue. Also, they are good lamps. You forgo easy setup and slightly clunkier controls, but get access to a smart RGB ecosystem at a much lower cost and without the need for a hub to control them.
