Review on 🐠 Marineland Multi-Stage C-530 Canister Filter: Easy Maintenance for 100-150-Gallon Aquariums, 530 GPH Efficiency by Sandra Goode

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far, so good. at Fish & Aquatic Pets

I award 4 stars. If it were a little quieter and came with a tube of silicone grease it would be a solid five. So far I like it but I only have it for one day. There have been reports of a leak, but I'm fine. I will update if and when that changes. I have a 90 gallon standard and it seems like a lot more filter than needed, but again, that's what I was aiming for. I have read several 1 star reviews and have to believe that the writers received defective equipment or were not paying attention to what they are doing. It took about 1/2 hour to assemble as I wanted to go through all the instructions step by step to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. After the initial setup, I don't see the filter taking more than 15 minutes to service. It's a big filter and a bit heavy when full. So if you have physical limitations you may find a smaller unit. It pumps a lot of water. So if you have fish that don't like strong currents, you can make sure you have hiding places (upside down flower pots will do). 4 filter media cartridges allow you to customize filtration to suit your needs. You need to make sure the trays are attached properly, this is easy, but be careful. Leave a few inches of extra inlet and outlet pipe so you can maneuver the filter a bit. The only annoying part is the start button. This works well, but is a bit tedious when you want to fill the filter from an empty state when you can't go through it directly. I'm sure I've forgotten something, but I'll update if I think of anything else
