Welding only took about 160 hours or a month before my right thumb wore out, but I was able to turn the glove inside out and superglue a small piece of leather for a patch. They are really good when doing high amperage TIG welding or switching from MIG to TIG during the workday. The fit was great, no long fingers and the thumbs didn't stretch the material when I opened my palm fully. The gloves were a bit stiff but after 3 days they loosened up. IMO if they added extra materials to the pinky to hold more warmth they would be the perfect dueling sweat glove.
