Review on ๐Ÿท๏ธ Phomemo D30 Small Label Maker: Portable Bluetooth Labeler for Easy and Quick Labeling by Shawn Xayamonty

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Mostly good - other office equipment

I got this so it can do multi-line taxonomic labels. It also has many other features. I like it, it took me a bit of Messi to get it working, but overall it suits my purposes better than other label makers. However, the tape that came with the kit is complete nonsense. Generally not very good performance of the finished product. It is bonded to the glue that secures the shipping materials. Once removed, the adhesive sticks to the reel and causes many misfires. When printing, removing the liner from the label is an absolutely pathetic experience. If you can remove it at all, it will often peel the adhesive off the label, leaving a piece of paper at best. Pretty bad job on the label. I've bought other rolls at the same time and have had much better success so far, but the same potential issue is how they ship the same way. Whether you buy extra rolls or don't have clear tape on hand, you can simply print and stick the labels instead of the nightmare of removing the backing. I fully unfolded and rerolled the labels that came with the device to prevent adhesive residue from catching the roll in the device, but haven't tried it yet. Overall I wasn't expecting much. I'm happy with the formatting options that make it much better to use small and multi-line labels. The device itself looks good, connects easily via Bluetooth, although the need to turn on GPS is puzzling. Overall, aside from the fact that the roll of labels that comes with it is terrible, this is a good little printer.
