Bought K-Box and Coleman

My old Coleman is over 20 years old and still works after driving over 100,000 miles and many thousands of hours of off-vehicle use but seems to be getting old so I got a new Coleman and a K -Box purchased (K-Box looks the same as Knox.) Coleman and K-Box look and measure the same inside and out, despite K-Box's claim of "48" quarts and Coleman's "40" quarts. them empty, in my basement at 64 degrees F overnight and a thermometer installed below, Coleman dropped to 19 F and drew 76 watts from the old 12v adapter (which lost 5 watts after a few hours of use); The K-Box was cooled to 32F using 72 watts on an old 12v adapter which dropped to 59 watts after a few hours of use (the 12v adapter draws power that would not be used when plugged into the vehicle would). - The box started at 65w with mains lead and dropped to 50w after a few hours.) The K-box doesn't say it stops cooling at 32F - maybe it's a design feature - but it doesn't seem to be about the power have to cool off. (My 20-year-old Coleman, which cools noticeably worse than when it was new, is still running, so I let it run: it dropped to 32F idle at 66F in air at 55 watts.) I put them out on the road pre-cooled The shading. at 70 F rises to 90+ F: Temperature rose to 53 F in the K-Box after 4 hours connection; next to him in the Coleman it was 7 to 11 degrees Fahrenheit colder. For example, morning, 64 F, humidity 62% (elevation 300 feet), both cool down to 45 F after 1 hour, after another 30 minutes (air 66 F, 59%), K-Box = 40 F, Coleman = 39 F 30 minutes later (air 70 F, 57%), K box = 37 F, Coleman = 35 F. 30 minutes later (air 78 F, 52%), K box 39 F, Coleman 34 F. 30 minutes later ( Air 81 F, 43%), K-Box = 43 F, Coleman = 35 F. 30 minutes later (Air 84 F, 35%), K-Box = 45 F, Coleman = 38 F. 30 minutes later, ( Air 86 F, 33%), K-Box = 47 F, Coleman = 40 F. 30 minutes later (Air 87 F, 32%), K-Box = 49 F, Coleman = 42 F. 30 minutes later (Air 88 F, 31%), K-Box = 50 F, Coleman = 44 F. The heat exchanger in the K-Box is too small for the heat input of its compartment. I would use the K-Box if it was 20% larger and had a 30% larger heat exchanger: it gets 3 stars as it is. Coleman gets 5 stars. The K-Box lid is a lot heavier because its mechanism is there; The Coleman is on the side so you don't have to pick it up every time you open the lid. The Coleman cap lifts with a force of 6 ounces; K-Box requires 1.5 pounds of force; Coleman's design is better.
