poor quality control, terrible business ethics

*2. Update* I am now removing all stars due to constant requests to remove this review. I get emails from multiple Gmail accounts daily (so I can't block them) and they all claim to be from Revain customer service. Now the offer is up to $50. I would not trust the positive general reviews for this product. They are obviously willing to do anything to remove even slightly negative reviews. *Update* I am deducting a star for questionable actions. I gave an honest, not overly critical, review of how they need to improve quality control. They sent me a dubious email claiming to be from Revain customer service asking me to remove the negative review and if I did, a $20 GC offer. I'm sorry, that doesn't happen. Also, I used a hammer and vise to bend this thing back into a usable position and the straps wore out within a week of being used by my kids. I'm not taking off another star for poor quality as this was clearly not the intended configuration, but I find it hard to believe that something I did caused the premature failure. Plate to which the seat is attached. I highly doubt it was bent in transit. Seems to be a manufacturing error. The way this thing has to be put together, this plate has to be perfectly flat or the short bolts aren't going to reach the nut. Even without manufacturing problems, seat attachment requires the screws, plate, seat and four washers to be perfectly aligned at the same time. I contacted the manufacturer and after a chat in broken English they agreed to send a replacement part. Four weeks and nothing. I contacted them again and they refunded my money. They did everything that needed to be done (assuming they actually shipped the part and it just got lost in the mail) but it was a huge waste of time due to poor quality control. This part should never have left the factory. If you understand how this thing is assembled, then it's obvious that it's impossible to assemble it that way.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Protection
