Review on VizGiz Connector Gold Plated Soldering Replacement by Renee Patterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I don't get 1 star ratings, this is a thin connector so the soldering area will be small.

Reviews make me laugh, I've been working with electronics for over 30 years and soldering all the time. I can solder this with my crappy Radio Shack thick end iron, my corrugator is missing. I don't solder as much as I did 20 years ago, but yes, lots of soldering helps, but as long as you don't wiggle too much, have a small soldering tip, and a way to hold the connector, you should be fine. People complain that they have nothing to attach the wire to. What do you expect from this price for 6 strong connectors? I think it would be nice to get an extra element and fewer connectors, but you can do the same thing with two layers of small heat shrink, just make sure you put the cap on while the heat shrink is still warm. I bought this because it's thin enough to fit in my phone without changing my case. I accidentally broke the original headphone jack. This seems like a good idea if you're good with heat shrink tubing. Search YouTube for tips on soldering, including dyeing headphone wires.
