I bought these to use with a cordless drill but the shank is 1/4 inch too long for my DeWalt's locking mechanism to lock the shank and to keep. I compared the shank to other bits and found that the shank is too long. I had to use a cutting wheel to cut off 3/8 to 1/4 which allowed the snap ring to snap into place. Now that I've had this to use I'm trying to polish my saddlebag on my Harley and WOW! The amount of fibers that flew off the buff was incredible! It looks like a lint catcher from 20 tumble dryers got thrown onto my bike! That's it! It was amazing how much came of it! Wheel. The wheel is well polished, but the fibers! I would suggest that before using a buffing pad you turn it to something that can be rubbed down easily. This should remove most of the free flying fibers!
