After a few years of use my old Airfloss died. Since the warranty period has expired, a new model was purchased. At first reception it looked like it would be a big improvement. The handle itself has been improved and made more ergonomic. The mouthwash chamber is at least twice the size of the original model, and the mouthpiece is now made of flexible material instead of hard plastic to fit between teeth. In addition, the device can be configured to deliver one to three pulses of fluid with each press. Following the printed instructions that came with the device, I first copied the serial number along with other important data, set the device to charge for the recommended 24 hours, and then registered the device on the Phillips website. This last step is mandatory as shown below. When I used the new device for the first time, I was very disappointed. It was like a shower with mouthwash. It rained splashes from everywhere. I always thought it was just me. So I tried every possible way of holding the device, as well as my mouth. The spray just spread everywhere. I was so desperate that I even tried the tape that was ripped off the device. Finally, after several weeks and no success with the device, I called Philips. To my relief, after giving me my device and serial number, the account representative I spoke to reassured me that my device and now my usage habits were faulty. She explained that the device has now adjusted the revised program so that the pulses are as they should have been. She immediately offered to deliver a replacement device. I was told that judging by the serial number, a newer model was coming out that went through several stages of refinement. How the new block has changed! The replacement block works great. The tub no longer squirts, the ripples shoot up between my teeth and my mouth feels really clean. I love it so much I finally convinced my wife to try it. Now she's a regular user too and I think she'll soon have the device in her own bathroom. As a compliment, from my point of view, Phillips is a company that really cares about its customers. Should the device prove defective in any way, they will support it through service and/or replacement. Phillips really goes beyond the original sale. Our family has their Sonicare toothbrushes, had previous Air Floss models and now the latest addition. [Just for the record - neither I nor anyone I know work or have anything to do with Phillips - other than as a satisfied user of their products.]
