Review on SUPERNIGHT Changing Wireless Remote Controller by Linda Fournier

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Pleasant light with some odd properties

I use this lamp at night to have a dim light when I'm coming home or watching TV, just enough to see what's around or after a grab another switch. Brightness and colors are good for this. The remote control is a nice feature and I think it's important to be able to control the color you want to display. Here's the main reason I'm only giving 3/5 stars. The Flash setting, which is the default, cycles through each color at a rate of about 2 colors per second, creating a disco ball feel. I imagine it might be desirable at a party with different lighting effects, but when I'm relaxing at home it's too stimulating and distracting. It doesn't matter except if I turn it off and on with the light switch it reverts to that default setting and I have to find the remote to change it to a different one. I've also found that if I leave it on for more than a couple of hours it reverts to disco ball lightning for no apparent reason. I've come home late several times and seen colors flickering out of my front window, and I think my neighbors must assume I have very quiet parties almost every night. The settings buttons on the right have black text on a black background - really folks?) My TV remote ALSO controls the lights. Every time I change the input on my TV or turn it off, the light turns on or off or the settings change. Overall good light but programming and remote control could be better.
